Anyways. Laser mice don't 'require' mouse pads, only a smooth, non-reflective surface. Ball mice used them to improve traction with the ball on the surface, as well as having a cleaner surface to use to move on so the ball wouldn't collect debris from the table itself.
And I can cover my entire monitor's width with only 1/3rd of my mouse pad, so up your sensitivity or something.
Oh i grew up with my dads office right next to my room and i used his table a lot. He didn't have a mousepad, so i already know it would scratch the table and stuff.
With my mouse speed at max my whole track pad covers my entire screen, which i've been doing since a few months after i got my first laptop. xD
