Pride, Prejudice, and Zombies and Pokemon [Signups/Bio Page]

I want to participate but have a few questions.

Is the virus considered a status effect?

Does this go by game logic or anime logic. AKA moves more than just damage dealing, fly can let you fly, stuff like that.

I think the virus would be something like the Shadow type in the Gamecube titles. Logic would be somewhat mixed, since my character rides on an Absol rather than a bike, but I think the battles would work better if they are like the game, although avoiding attacks should be more important (especially when fighting Zombie Pokémon). Nothing is really set in stone yet, because only a few posts have been made so far.
