Now I cant go surfing on the gulf coast because of this crap.
Man why does there have to be a major disaster in my life that affects ME.
Because you live in this world.
This is the best case against offshore drilling to date. People pissed off because their normal lives are affected should realize that even political competence at the very least is necessary to live the lives they want. You want to surf? Then go out now and see what you can do to help fix this problem, and/or prevent it from happening in the future.
Sorry to be upset at you ndyn, because this really does suck and I'm sympathetic to your situation, but cases like this just go to show the ever-true problem with this country: people don't give a damn about something until it affects them, at which point they realize what an issue it really is and finally start doing something about it.
Hate to break it to you guys, but there's a lot out there that you can work to prevent from permanently ruining your lives in the future. Activism is not political craziness; it's caring about and protecting your future and the future of those you love.
