You can use the MTS argument all you want, but there's no coincidence/lack of meticulous planning when Nexon increases the taxes on items in the system, and later releases CS-only mastery books.
They've given hundreds of opportunities to get NX without using real money. Whether it's from the MTS, NX Offers, the events they create (yes, they give out Maple Points in events! GASP!)...
The mastery books don't mean the end of Free to Play. You don't have to spend money to get what you want in this game.
