Damn atheists!

Christians have imposed their beliefs on the world for nearly 2000 years. At first that religion began as a small belief some Jewish tribes in the Middle East had. It soon became the main religion in the Roman empire and then it spread into other branches like Catholicsm. These Christians created theocracies, and armies. They killed the non-believers for not being Christians. They try to convert people all the time. Besides physical ways of imposing their beliefs on us they have forced their way into the American government, which is suppose to be SECULAR. They try to change laws and try to add religious objects in public space to spread and be proud in their ancient beliefs.

1. Stemmed "from" Catholicism not "into" due to corrupt practice of selling "get out of hell" free cards from the Catholic Church. This idealism in repentance stemmed from mass publications of the bible: See ref: Gutenburg's Printing Press, Martin Luther, Martin Luther's 95 Thesis, Protestant Reformation of the 16th and 17th Centuries.

2. Due to the massive stemming from topic [1] there are numerous "brand labels" of Christianity that people subscribe to: Calvinism, Armenism, Baptist, Non-denominational, Biblical, Methodist, Sectarian, Presbytarian, and I could go on forever. It is important to give every section it's due and to not be lost in generalizing Christians as "Christians."

3. Even though I do agree that there have been a series of battles stemmed from Christian ideology such as the Crusades and the Dark Ages, it is dubious as to how much of the battles waged were purely based on Christian theology or twisted to suit the demands of ever-expanding empire nations. Much like modern America, our Presidents have used Christian ideology as a source of power to draw from the dogmatists within the Bible Belt. There is no helping this. You will always have those who don't know their own faith.

4. Of course Christians convert people. We don't want them to go to hell. I think it's heart-warming.

5. I apologize for using sarcasm. But damn those Pilgrims and that Mayflower. Invading America like that and affecting the government. Christianity was always a part of America since it's days in colonial subjugation to King George III of Great Britain. I wish we maintained the same Christian-rigor as the Pilgrims, but this is not to be.

6. Finally, my two cents: You cannot call yourself an atheist if you believe in a god, God, angels, demons, ect. Let me add to this, I cannot respect you as an atheist unless you've read through every religious text, philosophical document, and scripture known to man. Just as I cannot respect a Christian who has not read the Bible, an atheist must be held to a higher premium since they are denouncing the world of spiritual thinking. Even great philosophers such as Emmanual Kant and Thomas Aquinas had some spiritual orientation. I'm reading the bible a second time and I'm starting to read the Koran. There are many things people find fault within the Bible.

When Moses climbed Mount Sinai to receive the Ten Commandments, Aaron created a Golden Calf, a pagan deity from the gold of the exiled Hebrews. When you witnessed this insubordination, you killed and punished accordingly.

Except for one thing Lord. You spared Aaron. In fact, you make him the leader of the tribe of Levites. A tribe of prophets and religious righteousmen. While Aaron’s pagan followers were put to death, he somehow ascended and became a holy representative.

When Lucifer, one of your most prized angels betrayed you and attempted to raise a rebellion, you sent him to the very depths of Hell. But you never resolved the issue. In fact, Lucifer became Satan and Satan tempted Even who ate of the forbidden fruit and eventually caused man’s damnation. Such a deterministic wheel of events seems not within the realm or responsibility of man’s domain. But in fact, a questioning puzzle that has never been answered.

But that doesn't mean you have to denounce ever other religion like it's the same thing. Maybe you have read up on Kant, Hegel, and Descartes. Maybe you have already read the Bible and the Koran. But the word atheism is thrown around too lightly just like the term Christianity.

Protestant-derivative Christianity stemmed from Gutbenburg and his printing press. The power of knowledge and education with the Bible. Now-a-days your so called "average Christian" can't quote more than five bible verses from memory much less cite the verse beyond or below John 3:16.

I think we all need to take a break and formulate more fundamentally truth-fractured posts on both camps. Screaming two liners at each other only fuels pathos oriented illogica.
