Self-restraint is a very touchy subject for me to even discuss about, because everyone's willpower is different. But let's compare this to smoking and drinking, a lot of people can say "I can quit easily!". The next day:
"Eh. One smoke/drink won't hurt. Maybe tomorrow."
And it goes on and on, because some people can make it look easy, and then there are others who has to resort to more drastic means of restraining themselves. I don't think there's a right answer, because everybody is different, really. I just prefer to lock my stuff since I know myself way better than my own family or my friends.
