It's supposed to give 15 fame along with the EXP that you get as a reward, however, when I completed it, I only got the EXP.The fame part comes from the Tae Soo sub-quest after you defeat him, if you didn't do that.
It seems the only working Area Boss quests are for Mano, Stumpy and King Clang.
