Let me put it this way: Generation IV was FILLED with a crap-ton new offshoot evolution Pokemon, like Electivir, Magmortar, Glaceon, Leafeon, etc. You claim that there are only three Regis according to legend, yet Regigigas is found in the eastern temple in Snowpoint City. And what did that do to the game? I've never seen so many people hate on a generation of Pokemon before. Too many were upset with all they tried to fit in, saying they really pushed the bar with Gen IV adding so many random new evolutions to old Pokemon lines that hadn't seen a change since Gen I or II. While the idea of new evolutions for old Pokemon is neat and brings back nostalgia for veteran players, if the execution is carried out poorly (like seen above, and like Gen IV, IMO, was pretty damn close to), then the new generation fails to live up to its expectations of showcasing the individuality of whatever new region the Pokemon are found. You want all these new Pokemon evolutions for old lines, but don't want to see this many, as shown above? Please. The above picture is an excellent metaphor for what the generation V Pokemon will be, and if you can't handle that, don't be shouting so euphorically for new evolutions for the old.There's a difference between Gen IV's evolution chains and this supposed Gen's generation chains.
Looking through, aside from Mr. Mime and Mime Jr., I don't see a single pre-existing Pokemon that doesn't have a baby/final evolution added. At least Generation IV had evolution chains that were left intact (ie. Abra, Zubat, Geodude, Machop...)
Regigigas is a guardian. He's not a Regi himself. He may have "Regi" in his name, but he is in no way a "Regi."
I believe they added...27 new evolutions in Gen IV? There are 45 new evolutions in this supposed generation of Pokemon. There's a big difference.
Nowhere did we say that we wanted new evolutions for pre-existing Pokemon. Don't put words in our mouths.
Nowhere does it say that Gen V will have this many new evolutions.
@Nightclaw:
Just no. It's quite obvious that those Pokemon are "legendary." These Pokemon were spoke of in legends (Deoxys was spoke of in legends do the fact that it lived in space and was rarely seen. Mew was spoke of in legends because it "created" all Pokemon. Shaymin was spoke of in legends due to its ability to purify ...things (the air?)).
