What religion do you belong to?

I was born atheist, like everyone else.

I don't know and I don't claim to know. Sometimes I like to believe that the laws of physics aren't the end-all, that there's something more to it. But I wouldn't consider myself religious. About the most religious thing I've done was kneel before a Buddha once or twice in some temple in China. And I wear one of these

on my wrist all the time but I don't attach any religious significance to it.

Your agnostic (agnostic theism): a person who does not believe in gods (atheism) without claiming to know for sure that no gods can or do exist.

Why would people claim to be atheist just because they're on the internet? Is it "cool" to be an atheist or something? If anybody actually is claiming to be atheist becase they think it's cool, then they should realise that they're disrespecting their own religion. Though tbh, I doubt anybody is actually doing that.

It's easier to ridicule and deny a form of belief when you are not expected to hold similar standards and defend your perspective. For example if a Buddhist lambasted Christianity, they would have to counter their method to life and the way they live. But it's become socially accepted that an atheist does not have to defend their lifestyle due to the rich diversity of internet dwellers who decide to deny higher powers and therefore can focus on ridiculing other forms of belief when it comes to discussion.

tl;dr: People are atheist because there are less responsibilities to uphold.

The main question asked of theists who believe in a loving omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent entity is why there is human suffering if their supreme ruler is benevolent. Various religions take on the responsibility of explaining this even though their logic could be faulty and out-of-sync with this divine entity. Atheists just have to go, "Life sucks man. Life sucks."
