So for a while now I've had no regrets throwing out milk that's past the expiry date. Of course, I smell it to see if it might still be fresh. If not, I can pour it down the drain without feeling guilty about it.
My reasoning:
-It's not a waste if no one wants it
- Drinking it just to finish it is just pointless
- I'd rather drink water, which I don't drink enough of anyways
- My weak stomach might even hurt from drinking the milk
Of course, I feel a bit disappointed that I didn't drink enough before, when the milk was still fresh. In fact, I try to drink as much as I can, and whenever I remember to. It's just that once it hits that point where it starts to smell bad, the cons of drinking it just outweigh the pros.
And yet, some people in my family are constantly giving me the guilt trip when I don't want to drink the last 1/6th portion of the milk. I say I'll just throw it away, and they just sigh or something.
Thoughts, Southperry?
