- Bro's Charmander uses Ember against my Pikachu.
* Pikachu has 2 / 20 HP left.
- My Pikachu uses Agility.
- Bro's Squirtle uses Surf against my Pikachu.
Will my Pikachu still endure Squirtle's Surf, obviously staying at 1 HP? Or is a Focus Sash useless in 2v2 battles?
A focus sash can only activate if a move begins to hit you while you have full HP. It does not protect you for the entire turn in 2v2 battles if you have max HP.
In your situation, pikachu will not survive with 1 HP. But, if the ember would've knocked it out, it would've survived with 1HP, only to be knocked out by surf.
So it can be much more easy dealt with in double battles.
