Although, NPCs have gotten more advanced; the old man in the evan quests asks for water, you give it to him, he gets up, walks away, moves to another map, and his NPC mark even moves off the minimap. Amazing to see even maplestory evolve like this.
But, in response to your comment, it is completely true to have a "NPC" mob like tylus or this version of shammos fight along side you. It'd be like making a normal mob; just add something to the info section of the mob that allows it to attack mobs and not attack you, give the technical NPC a way to transform into the ally mob (much like in the aran quest where the fake tru transforms into the black wings guy) and bam, we have an awesome ally. Hopefully they'll do this someday.
Indeed NPCs got a lot more advanced, and I'm really happy and interested at the same time about it.
Yeah, I was thinking about the same thing: what if soon NPCs could be able to attack with you and become your allies? That'd be just great. This could've been used for CWKPQ too: since you do the expedition together with Jack, he could've helped you with killing the Grandmasters. That'd have been great, but too bad, it was released before they made this system in KMS. They can use this system to release many interesting things in the game, I hope they'll do that.
In particular, I'm interested in the references of the PQ to the Black Mage. I wonder where does Lax come from and what's his relation with the Black Mage?
