I think this PQ is pretty cool. I like the concept of having to escort someone rather than just protecting it from waves of monsters. The fact that they now let NPC allies move makes me hope we can fight alongside one in the future. How cool would it be if NPCs helped against the Black Magician?
The earrings seem cool, hopefully the new class will be cool too.
I actually don't think that is an NPC, as it has a health bar. It's a technical mob, with a few extra strings added to it that makes us not attack it and mobs be able to. Although, NPCs have gotten more advanced; the old man in the evan quests asks for water, you give it to him, he gets up, walks away, moves to another map, and his NPC mark even moves off the minimap. Amazing to see even maplestory evolve like this.
But, in response to your comment, it is completely true to have a "NPC" mob like tylus or this version of shammos fight along side you. It'd be like making a normal mob; just add something to the info section of the mob that allows it to attack mobs and not attack you, give the technical NPC a way to transform into the ally mob (much like in the aran quest where the fake tru transforms into the black wings guy) and bam, we have an awesome ally. Hopefully they'll do this someday.
