How IP bans are working
#1
This is just an observation as to the IP banning as a result of the chaos scroll MTS purchase I made.

I had 5 accounts lets call them A,B,C,D,E

I also have 2 Internet circuits at home (I'm in the middle of switching ISPs) and I have 2 Internet circuits at work to test with. (with many different IPs)

account A is the account I used to make the unfortunate purchase.

Now when I log into any account other than E on my regular home ISP I'm banned. (i.e. my home IP is banned for A,B,C,D)
If I log into B,C,D,E on a new IP address I can log in no problem. However, if I attempt to log into A on that same IP address I'm again banned on all accounts except for E.
So B,C,D are somehow associated with account A but E is not. (I don't play E often it used to be a mule account)
Therefore the act of attempting to log into A triggers the ban B,C,D for the IP address being used.

any new account I make is unaffected

I don't know if this is common knowledge on sp.net
