Okay, I want in on this debate.
I know the arguments, and one thing that people havent considered, is that different people learn differently.
For example. I am a fast learner. I absorb information like a sponge. In chem, I was sick and didnt make it to school for ANY of the days the teacher was teaching/assigning work in chapter eight. I get back to school on test day, read the chapter. walk in to class. Get 110 on the test (100+10 extra credit)
For me, if i read something, I know it. I dont need any further reenforcement. The only reason I do homework is for the grade.
When you have a kid that knows the material, and is assigned busywork homework, but the kid has a busy day. If he knows the material, is copying something that he could do easily under different circumstances wrong?
I think not.

This time a pineappleing thousand dude. Seriously this is the reason I hated school. Who the pineapple cares if I attend if I'm grasping the material. Who the pineapple cares if I do homework or not if I understand the material. It's pineappleing ridiculous how reliant your grade is on the most irrelevent things. The point of the class is to be educated. If I go in 10 minutes late, who the pineapple cares? Trying to instill dicipline? Guess what Principal pomegranateface, most of society, especially at work is pretty lenient about stupid pomegranate like that, and I dont have to bring work home it stays at the office (most instances).
also this. If you want to learn how about this. Show that you grasp it on the test, not stupid homework that you can just look up online and be done with it.
All homework does is buff peoples grades, and help the lazy kids get better than they deserve.
IF YOU WANT TO LEARN, AND HOMEWORK WILL HELP YOU GRASP THE MATERIAL BETTER, ASSIGN IT TO YOURSELVES!!! SERIOUSLY! ITS NOT THAT HARD....
