Pitch hack

Also, just want to say this in regards to how obvious this is. My dad just phoned me, he plays games but has had minimal experience with MMO's, so I decided to pose this "hypothetical" to him.

Me: I've got a hypothetical situation for you, need to know your thoughts.
Dad: Okay, go.
Me: You're playing a game, okay?
Dad: I am playing a game.
Me: No, in this hypothetical situation you're playing an online game.
Dad: Okay. *chuckles*
Me: There's a semi-rare item that typically costs $100 in this game. You go into a store and see one for $5. What do you think?
Dad: Think that's a pretty good deal.
Me: Okay, so instead of one for $5, you see 100 for $5 each. What do you think?
Dad: How difficult is this item to get.
Me: Certain circumstances have made it easier than normal.
Dad: I guess it's still a damn good deal then. But I wouldn't buy it.
Me: Okay, so instead of one store with 100 of these for $5, you see every store has 1600 of them for $5 each. There are a lot of stores.
Dad: I'd think something real fishy is going on. Real fishy indeed.
Me: Like what?
Dad: Like a glitch or a hack.
Me: Thanks.

Common sense.

Not common sense. You're butting into a human nature discussion now. (Yes, I am playing this card). Prices aside, something extremely rare is suddenly common - obviously something fishy is going on. I agree with the conversation up to that point. But whether or not people would take advantage of this "something fishy" (aka abuse) dependently varies from people to people.

The only thing common sense about it was that acknowledging something fishy is going on.
