No, they removed the restriction system they had in FR/LG, thankfully.

I wasted a bunch of time breeding a month ago when I was bored of Pearl, so I have a team of eggs ready to go. I'm playing through the game normally, but I'm making sure the Pokemon I'm trading over will be usable for battling post-Red.
