If I buy a physical copy of a DVD it's mostly for my personal collection. As such, I would never place the DVD anywhere but in its case. I may not even bother taking the wrap off or opening it up, because I most likely have a better quality version of it downloaded on my computer anyway.
Though, I have to say I rarely buy movies. Too expensive for what you get, in my opinion.
