Details- Black is a demon from an alternate hell. The demon used to be known by another name, but it has since been forgotten by him. His power is akin to that of an A rank, but that is only as strong as Black allows himself to reveal his power at. His strength is 'Consumption.' His strength grows every time he consumes the life forces of other demons, devours landscapes, basically uses his power and destroys the world around him and takes it into himself. picture this to get an idea: fires tendrils out of back, tendrils land in a tree, on the ground, and in various demons. the tree is absorbed, the demons are absorbed, and an area of the ground is absorbed. he can also create spaces/fields which act the same way; picture a massive black sphere forming in a major city. anywhere where the ball comes into contact with is devoured by black. a massive hole is left behind. also capable of creating a singularity to the same effect. so to summize, Black eats shit and absorbs that energy into himself. anything, in any way, Black can 'eat'anything.
One day he goes up and confronts a demon overlord. The demon overlord is powerful, but wary of Black. He knows the power of Black and is aware of his abilities. The demon overlord is afraid of Black, and strikes a deal with another overlord to defeat Black. When Black appears in the 1st overlords palace, the second overlord appears behind him and uses his own powers of Rebound to create a duplicate/opposite of Black. (think, the second overlord uses a mirror and creates a reflection of Black. the demon White emerges to defeat Black.) Black tries to devour his opposite, but his power of Consume is countered by the overlords influenced demon reflection's own Reversal. White has the ability to block any and all attacks that come to it, and is capable of rebounding said attacks to the attacker.
Black and White fought for ages, in terms of demon-time. The fought and fought, until eventually White's rebound of Blacks attack caused Black to leave himself exposed for a split moment. The demon overlords saw this and struck, fatally wounding Black. White was ordered to forcibly destroy Black's mind, but was unable to do so, so the first overlord attacked them both. Black was able in his last moment of life to consume White, while White was able to reflect enough of the demon overlords attack to spare his life, while killing the overlord Black was originally meant to destroy. Black however was torn, and his body was destroyed.
The second overlord saw the opening, and seeing that both his number one opponent and his own creation were defeated, rose to power and gained the throne of the former overlord. He then banished the two demons to the world of humans, wherein they were imprisoned in the body of a boy who's spirit had been broken. they rested and gathered their strength, saving it up, storing it all, waiting for the time they would be able to revive. Black and White were able to do so when the boy they were trapped in was faced with a grave peril that shook his very heart. they took advantage of the situation and used their own powers and gathered as much material as they could to form a conduit that will be later used to gain even more of their former power, as well as aid the boy.
The weapon took the form of a scythe. When the boy came to learn of the demon's pasts, their powers, and the situation he was faced with, the boy renamed the demons Black and White, they having forgotten their old names, and dubbed the conduit of their lives Equinox.
When the blade on Equinox is black, the scythe is capable of cutting through any solid object and leave no remnants of its attack. for instance, if a person is cut, no blood is sent flying from the wound, nor does the person bleed from that wound. the black blade is focused on up-close fighting. While the blade is white, the blade is capable of repelling any attack, and is capable of firing a wave/field/crescent of energy forward towards the opponent, as well as absorbing the kinetic energy of any attacks that connect with the blade and rebounding them in one immensely powerful strike towards the opponent, whether it be a direct attack or a long range one.
Tobias himself has no real power and relies on the two demons for strength. Other than being the vessel for two demons that are stuck in the same form, he is a normal human being that suffered a severe tragedy which has caused him to lose faith and trust in others, as well as question the world around him. When Black is dominant, he becomes vocal, outward, confident, dominant, and aggressive. When White is dominant, Tobias is more relaxed, sympathetic, thoughtful, and rational. The indicator of which is dominant is determined by the tone of Tobias' voice, as well as the color his left eye takes when they are taking direct control of his body.
