Merrily Married Couples and Dying Babies
#12
A:A: In the heat of the moment, I'm sure I would pick the best option for my wife to live. If my wife died and the baby survived, it would always remind me of her and I'm not sure if I would want that. The shock I'd feel of being an unmarried husband with a kid that reminds me of my dead wife who probably would have wanted to survive instead of her dumb baby would be terrible. I love my wife. I know my wife. I do not know this baby. If she's the perfect woman, then fertility isn't an issue, so more babies will be on the way. I would definitely pick her best chance of survival.

B:B: I would strongly try to advise her toward option A, but her body, her wishes. I would let her die knowing that she wanted the baby to survive and have me take care of it if she were insistent on it. The fact that she cares for her baby more than her own life is a bit morbid, but if I were in her situation I'd want to make the call too.

C:B: What an ass of a doctor. I trust my wife. I do not trust my doctor about my wife's relationships. He will not sway me.
