Not necessarily. Back then, there was less. Less people means a smaller community, which means less of a bad community. Hackers have increased due to there being more players. Maple Story was also easier to manage, remember 3rd job? Hackers galore. There were never any serious account hackings, besides the one time one of the top 5 players got hacked. Suuushi was that character that was targeted. Now it's on a whole new level.
