The way 8x stacks up is weird. Combining holy symbol with it gave me no exp at all when soloing, and when partied with someone else, I got You have gained experience (+0) and Bonus EXP for party (+1). I got the full 8x plus holy symbol plus party bonus from my partner's kills though. 8x for my own kills only worked with holy symbol off. I'm guessing there's a 10x limit on base exp (before party, exp pendant, and card bonus) that forces all the exp down to 0 or something in case of hackers.
