The problem a lot of us have is that they took something intended for end game level players and nerfed it for piss ant lvl 80's to enjoy. We were looking forward to the challange of Neo Tokyo. So what if half of us would die as soon as we walk in? I'm sure many of us haven't had the thrill of near death experiences while exploring in several months, perhaps years.
I for one just don't see why the low level crowd need yet more additional content catered to them. I highly doubt there are many level 50 players who are going to go out of their way to try out all 5 of the party quests available for their level, let alone explore the several dozen maps and towns in the game that suit their level. If anything they're likely to post yet another "Hey where do I train at x level" thread to get to 4th as fast as they can. In case Nexon hasn't noticed, there are many areas in the game that have become ghost towns. A quick show of hands please. How many of you even remember Omega Sector? What about Korean Folk? My point exactly.
There isn't much variety as far as end game level activity goes in MapleStory. Two training locations, a single PQ, and a few bosses. That's not even counting the fact that the majority of those bosses have so much drama and corruption tied to them that they're inaccessible to the majority of the community. The only challenging boss left at end game level requires at least a week of hunting for exceedingly rare etc drops.
Anyone care to wager how long it will take for Neo City to become just as empty as Omega Sector?
Since I was hoping Neo Tokyo would give us two weeks of fun, which it would've and then some, I'm gonna have to guess that Neo City will only last a day or two before the hype, if any, wears off.
If I were a around 70 with no higher leveled characters, I'd be estatic that I was getting a new area to explore, and I'm sure a lot of them are.
I'm not really one of those people who rushed to fourth job, so I can't speak for them, but I know there are places I never truly got to enjoy on Feargit the first time. Though we can't enjoy a lot of the low level content on our higher leveled characters, that doesn't mean we shouldn't get any more. Being a person who continually creates characters, I've found use in some of those deserted areas. Sure the only reason I went to KFT on Feargit was the mount, and then after for the quests for my medal, but on many of my characters since then, I've used those insanely simple quests to level my newer characters. One of the main cons about Maple is the lack of leveling options besides grinding. It's easier and easier to get to a higher level without a constant grind, and if they could eliminate that entirely from the lower levels, they'll probably start with the higher levels, I see it as them working their way up. They're trying to make it, not necessarily easier but, more fun to level, this is a game after all.

There's nothing wrong with knowing about what other versions have, in fact, I think it better that you do. If you compare it to growing up with no knowledge of anything other than your surroundings, having worldly knowledge is better. Expecting that you'll get the same content as other versions is a different story, though. There wasn't any indication that we were ever getting Neo Tokyo, so it's not like Nexon is letting us down or anything, we got our hopes up, and we got burned.
Is there a possibility for us to get Neo Tokyo? If there is, it's extremely small, but the year is still young, there's plenty of fresh content we could get, we just have to be patient for a little longer, until then, we should just enjoy what we have rather than complaining about what we don't.
