I know for a fact they do not have direct access to servers. Do you know why I think this is? It's because if that was the case, they would have targeted all lv 200's immediately. Think about it. Why go for the weaker people? Or, why is it a random hit-and-run? They don't have direct access. They got it somewhere, but not directly. You're also right, that if they did have direct access to servers, that they could indeed bypass PICs. On the other hand, the PICs could be allocated to different servers (physical), and not virtual. If they were on different partitions, they could still obtain information, I would assume.

EDIT: For example, a virus/spyware got into your computer, and it infects everything. It doesn't only infect '1' drive, it infects all drives. Unless it's only designated to hit only 1 drive, which is unlikely. >_>
