Use white pots! You need two HP potions when you first start squidding. About 50 Barbs, 400 white potions, and 300 sorcs is what I remember using. Just use white pots to overpot the damage you take from the poison ink. The shots can be ignored; they only 1 damage. You rarely take a body hit from them, but when you do, you need that extra healing. That's why I recommend using two different HP pots.

Also, get better at potting. You'll need it to keep playing a ranged class. Double-potting repeatedly at Nest Golems is hard D: (Ice cream + Unagi while stopping Hurricane every 3 seconds)
