...Actually, personally; I wanted the better equips, bullets and the circlet. Your rebuttal isn't worth a grain of salt on that mark; the 1h sword completely dominates the Timeless version, and there is no substitution for the ammunition or the circlet.
"Enemies and grinding are the only things that I want"? Sorry, slick... while I may want better areas for grinding, that's not the only thing to think about.
As for challenge... pink bean is the only real thing that we have, and even it has an artificial limit imposed upon it. Neo Tokyo would fit that purpose much better, as well.
