do you think you could be defined by the music you listen to?
#3
I feel I'm an even more diverse music enthusiast than Kawasari, considering my tastes lie in, as I like to describe them, "anything that sounds cool/interesting to me."

My point is, if you're a person who listens to only a couple similar genres of music, chances are you are more easily identifiable by these tastes than others considering you're at a higher chance of incorporating more from these styles into your life. For example, my sister LOVES rock, especially classic rock, and because that's essentially the only genre she listens to it's no surprise she has a lot of band shirts, posters, and Rock Band/Guitar Hero games. That's not to say that everyone who exclusively adores one reason of music will embody that genre; Kawasari is a great example. I would go as far as saying his music interests are very similar in the cultural domain they all exist (K-Pop being the most diverse), but as he said, it's not like he fits any stereotypical behavior demonstrated by metal heads. He plays MapleStory after all (jkjk!).

But yeah. tl;dr is that this is one of those questions that's completely individual. I would say a person can be defined by their musical interests when such passions permeate other aspects of their lifestyles, ie. clothing, piercings, etc.
