If you guys really want to see a Paladin in the top 5, the only chance of it happening now is if the level 200 cap is removed. Richie and I never leveled as fast as many of the others on this server, but something we have (or maybe he had it first and I got it from him) is perseverance and consistency. We never stopped playing, and thus we pass people who get bored or quit. (Or get caught up in life stuff.) But if ranks are frozen at 200, then it's pretty much over for us lol~. And honestly, I'd like to see the level cap increased sooner than later, because if I got to level 200 before the cap was removed, it feels like I had an unfair advantage because the people who are already 200 today weren't allowed to maintain the lead they had. (If you couldn't tell, I'm still as passionate as always about rank, but things were and still are troubling me and I cannot play as much as I would like to.)
Justina always tells me ranks are stupid, and it's about who has more free time, or money to buy 2x cards or whatever. But it was never about "fair play"... at least back then. What she says is probably true for today's standard, but back in 3rd job, it was just too slow and boring for people so it was easy to outlevel people just by... never quitting. You didn't have to play a lot. That's what I liked about 3rd job. 4th job is too fast, too easy. Most of the top people previously have all been passed now because of that reason, so the competition has really changed a lot, from determination to time availability. The best example of this is Joey, who has never used 2x and still stayed #1 Hermit in top 10 Windia, even though he had to do two 30 minute Zakum runs everyday, plus school. You didn't need 2x or a lot of free time. Only discipline. But 4th job pretty much killed him lol. At the very least it's nice to see four people in the bunch still going strong and not letting new people take their place, which are Ashton, Shino, Gil, and Richie.
But personally, the part about ranks I like is the fact that when I pass someone, they want to pass me back. It's about keeping each other motivated, and finding the fun in leveling your own character. Or in my case, I just like to hear the sound effect for Blast. Training intensively for exp has also led me to adaptations I never thought possible, like playing two characters at the same time lol.
Well anyway, in top 5 ideally it should be all 5 magicians (any type), but since that's a class that gets boring to train easily, that's why warriors are there also. Night Lords should make it too, but our Hermits are all busy or lazy as hell. Duy was the only Night Lord that ever made it to the top 5. Archers had a slow start because by the end of 3rd job everyone was much higher leveled than they were because they were pathetic in 3rd job. On a side note, the only 4th jobs that have never appeared in the Windia top 5 are Fire/Poison Arch Mage, Shadower, Bowmaster, and Marksman.
My ideal and unrealistic top 5 is all female players. Job class and weapon choice and whatever doesn't matter. Just all females. Guys in real life don't count. Currently our top 5 has 1. No wait, I forgot about Gil, that makes 2!
