I didn't post in this thread because I thought other people would. ;x
I've been on a couple dozen Horntail runs. Started when I was like, 147. 153 now. It's pretty similar to how a Hero would HT.
First prelim head; the room-lag sometimes kills my combo, but I manage to cast Barrier once or twice before it's dead.
Same for the second prelim head.
For legs, I sit on them with Body Pressure on so even if I do get stunned somehow, I'll keep my combo up. This is the only time I use Body Pressure. If you use Final Blow while sitting on the left leg, you hit arms, wings, legs, and tail. Pretty cool, actually. I can use Barrier twice and Tempest if I feel like it before the legs/tail are down.
For tail, I just sit near Horntail's midline and attack until it's dead.
For rightside, I stand on the platform that lets me hit the right head, wings, and arm. When the head guards, I drop down and hit the wings and arm only. Stance failing is combo breaking.
After wings and arm, I stand on the top platform and Overswing reaches both the middle head and right head. When the middle head guards, I scoot back and hit just the right head, since Aran's damage lowers by more targets, hitting a guarded head results in a Miss.
The left side is pretty easy, the platforms are nicely placed so that if Stance fails, you can still hit a part and reposition yourself before your combo ends. Dispel isn't much of a concern, just use Standing, hit, next buff, hit, next buff, etc. and your combo will be fine.
One thing though, is that when the heads attack, they move down and out of range so either pull off a Final Blow quickly or hope they raise back into your range before combo ends.
Oh, and I use Final Charge a lot to get as close as I can to the heads.
Left arm is whatever.
I spam Overswing because I don't know when it's better to use Final Blow, if at all. Mine's Lv1 anyway.
Being near-lagless is essentially required, too.
So yeah, there you have it. Good luck [;
