If it's on the client's computer, it's not secure. The reason the authenticators are suggested is that there's no way for a keylogger to get access to it - it's not physically attached to the computer, the player has to enter the code from it.
There are a lot of drawbacks in your scheme for people who have multiple computers, multiple accounts, etc. I could make suggestions of ways to improve account security, but tbh Nexon is never going to implement anything I suggest on a forum so there's no point even thinking about it.
