It's been pointed out time and time again, it's hard to prove and disprove certain aspects, since for one we are not employees at Nexon so we have no way to look at their database code and system integrity, at least not without unconventional means. All it's doing is restricting the number of possibilities to analyze. Just because they haven't find faults doesn't mean it's not there, nor does it mean it's there, you see where I'm going? But by personal 'experience', the account that was hacked, had like the utmost protection from social engineering (minus password strength, I guess), whereas my 'dirtier' accounts were not compromised, not to mention those are my 'mains'. One thing that doesn't settle with me are inactive players getting hacked, and it's really hard to come up with a legitimate cause for that. Yes, some say it's because unused email accounts expired and hackers claim them and successfulyl retrieve information for Nexon accounts, but what about those that use ISP provided email and still got hacked while being inactive? At first when I was affected, I believed it was something that I've done to make myself vulnerable. But things just don't add up to any common cause, except to believe issues beyond player's control, aka at-end fault, Nexon. Skeptics will always be skeptics until it hits them.
This thread has served my own individual purpose in some way or another. One being, I'm not alone. And two, to warn those who are exposed and provide temporary solutions, if any. Progress to resolution is slow and it wasn't really the intention of the thread, just look at the title. It's nice to collaborate all central effort into one single thread, to keep information organized and discussions smooth, instead of having multiple threads that are hard to follow, just look at Nexon's forums. It also keeps the forum a lot tidier.
And what exactly are people proposing to change anyway? Authenticators, extra passwords, or what? Most of what I've seen now just boils down to compensation simply. Doesn't really help 'fixing' the problem, but it might speed up the process indirectly, yes(more incentive). Or maybe people are done with Nexon, just want to claim for damage and get the hell out of here. Me, I want them to 'fix' the problem, by placing more security options if necessary. Compensations second, then perhaps I will return to the game, which I highly doubt anyway. Except you have to see all of these conflict each other so there's no 'good' solution that can satisfy all. I'm willing to wait since I don't play anyway, for a lot of you, that may not be an option.
