Throwing them out completely was absurd though, especially when it would've been far more useful to just mass-reset them so everyone had to go enter them again.
That would've resulted in accounts being "less secure" for the time it took their owners to add in questions, rather than permanently throwing any pretense of security into the scrap heap.
