MTS and Islanders

"I can one hit orange mushies 34% of the time, but with my new MTS weapon, I can one hit them 37% of time! Yippee!"

Speed, weapon defence and weapon attack are pretty big factors - speed lets you move faster, thus kill faster; weapon defence lets you take less damage, thus have to use less potions (most higher level islanders have enough def to only take 1 damage anyway); weapon attack gives higher minimum and maximum damage dependant on the weapon - my islander at level 30 with pure STR and 20 DEX has a minimum of 33 with a Maple Umbrella and 26 with a White Valentines Rose. If I had a scrolled Pumpkin Lantern say, my minimum damage could be up to 60 - allowing me to also gain exp faster.


I personally don't use MTS on my Islander, however I do use my Islander as an MTS merchant. My reasons are simple - with MTS items on my Islander, I don't really have anything to hunt for, and thus get bored of training far quicker. Using my Islander as an MTS merchant forces me to train to gain 5k Mesos to sell items, thus giving me will to train.

My opinion is that if you want to use MTS you may as well leave the Island as using MTS really doesn't give you much of a challenge.
