Agreed.
Bribery Wrote:I'm starting to be worried for Mages. It seems like KMS doesn't realize what the real problem with them is. I hope they end up reworking the magic damage formula because these updates aren't doing any justice for Mages' bossing DPS. Also, Thunderbolt really needs a damage boost to compare with Fire Arrow.
I'm loving all the Bandit changes though. I think I may have to start leveling my baby level 26 Bandit.
Agreed.
Response to Cyanne
Agreed with this more. XD. Though enough boosting the skills used for, if looking at EXP Tables (to clarify since I had rankings shoved at me the last time I used this example), the first 2% or so of the game. Needs moar 4th job bossing boosts.
Cyanne Wrote:Unfortunately, it's way too late for the magic damage formula to be changed. You can probably imagine the chaos that would result from that happening. Fire arrow to 180 spell attack, cold beam to 160, thunderbolt to 80, and holy arrow to 120 would've been better. The 2nd job F/P was always about hitting 1 target, now it just looks dumb.

Agreed. Boost Paralyze/CL base attack and/or cast speeds, increase Booster to another cast speed level (Such as Level 4 cast speeds at max Lv. 20 so there's a reason to max it), and decrease summon attack delay. Any or all of these changes would greatly help our bossing abilities without breaking our classes or the game.
Bribery Wrote:I don't see anything wrong with +500 Matk pots if they carry the same price tag as Onyx Apples.
And I wasn't implying that Evans vs Mages was the only reason that the formula could not change. I was stating that Evans don't really need a DPS boost because their -20% Magic Damage and, to a lesser extent, their -30% Damage for 30 seconds skill make them very useful at higher level bosses. But as it stands, Arch Mages are the only class that don't contribute anything to bosses.
I realize that it isn't easy to change the magic damage formula at this point, so maybe they could at least boost Paralyze/Chain Lightning's damage output.

Uh, not true. It's a great idea to get Fire Arrow immediately to train, then Brace, so by the time Brace is maxed you're a 5x hybrid F/P with amazing DTing skill mist and cleanup skills. Brace is still faster to train with compared to the new Fire Arrow.
JoeTang Wrote:Thunder Spear sucks. Composition is the strongest 3rd job attack.
You don't get Brace after Fire Arrow because if you've spent your SP on Fire Arrow, you're using Fire Arrow to train. If you want to train with Brace, Fire Arrow is useless so you don't add points until later.

Exactly. This is why you max Fire Arrow between 30-40, Brace between 41-50, then Teleport, Slow, 3 into MPE, and the rest into maxing Medi. It's really the perfect build, and as you can see by its length, not that hard to comprehend. Then again, it's the compilation of years of work and experience by a vast number of GMS F/Ps, so any F/P that repeats this is usually pretty sure of what they're saying.

Takebacker Wrote:Yeah? The way i see it brace is useless to train until mid 5x when you can start hitting stormbreakers/death teddies. What are you going to do till then? Magic claw things to death? Do tell me the benefit of maxing one skill over the other, and why maxing both in the order i posted before is not the best choice.

Agreed x 100. There are so many ways these can be buffed: make them into party skills, decrease cooldown times, increase damage reflection percentages, add other effects...the list could go on and on. As of right now Big Bang and Mana Reflection are, in my humble opinion, the two skills worth maxing by the end of a Magician's game, with any leftover points thrown into Infinity. It's a shame they're useless.
Tikey Wrote:Still waiting for changes in Mana Reflection and Infinity. Two buffs I really want to utilize but can't because they suck so much. >_>

They're horrible, but as you said, we still spam them. For GMS, this only saves pots; however, this update is huge in KMS, as it makes it more feasible to spam them. It definitely saves them a lot more than us, to
to the rejoicing broke ass KMS ArchMages.
Tikey Wrote:The MP cost the ultimates were horribly scaled anyway. Besides, the high MP cost didn't stop us from spamming either way.
