Who cared about Maya before they got to know that they "predicted the end of the world"? (pfft)
Well, in fact they didn't, and that's why I used quotes. It's just that their calendary ends on December 21st, 2012. And people started to think it'll be the end of the world because they were able to predict SOME other astronomical phenomena.
