This is a common misconception teens make, much like the "you can't get pregnant if you're both virgins" or "that priest doesn't know what he's talking about, Satan doesn't make all condoms" myths. (I assure you, that priest is a very reputable source. Who can you trust if you can't trust your own Holy Father?)
The fact of the matter is, sperm is an airborne virus that can be absorbed by the lungs if you inhale near it. Sperm can survive temperatures of -273°C, close to absolute zero, temperatures as high as 151 °C (303 °F), 1,000 times more radiation than other animals (more than even full grown humans), almost a century without water, and even the vacuum of space. Indeed, it is because of these little critters that the human race strives as well as it does today.
They are very strong cells, and must be killed properly if you wish to protect yourself from pregnancy.
So far, the only known weaknesses of sperm are; Bleach, Ammonia (Bleach and Ammonia together gets the job done faster), Dr.Pepper, and bear feces.
Just so you know, birth control pills always use one or more of those in their ingredients.
