It doesn't hurt for him to experiment a bit to find out, does it? There are plenty of 14 year old dudes going out with girls, do you criticize them for going through with their straight relationship when they haven't fully developed sexually yet?

I understand where you're coming from. At that age, your hormones are raging and changing so much that you might just get attached to anyone who seems interesting. However, I do believe that it's not strange to act on such impulses. People usually end up leading to one way (or both) around this age, and usually stick to that direction as they go through puberty. By 14, I'm sure they'd have at least a vague understanding of what their orientation is.
