I used to play Netbattle. Hell, I used to even host my own server, but it was a "just for fun" thing and was pretty much just for a group of people I knew from forums. Really enjoyed it too, lots of good times.
I never got into Shoddy. I didn't even bother trying it out. I just play the DS games normally and battle whoever over wifi.
Oh, and I usually use Pokemon that I like, regardless of what tier they are. However, it seems a lot of Pokemon I like end up being bumped up in tiers. I liked Aerodactyl before everyone started using it, back when it was UU. I always liked the Porygon family, and made sure to get them in the older games because I thought their concept was cool. What do you know, it turns out to be loved in D/P when its evolution gets a huge boost in Sp.att.
I'm just glad there are still Pokemon on my team that are UU, but as of right now my favorites are mostly OU and BL.
