Oh, this debate has never been brought out on the internet before.
Let people use whatever they want. There's pros an cons both of the operating systems have.
The problem is the whole fanbase that goes with Macs, which leads to hostility from Windows fans. I say it this way because most of the time I've noticed it's the Mac fanbase that tends to smug up and act superior because they have a Mac. At least in public anyway. No, I'm not saying everyone is like this, nor am I saying there wouldn't be any Windows users who don't walk up to a Mac user and start acting like a snobby bastard.
For instance, I remember my High School government teacher. Always finding ways to incorporate her Maclove into her lessons (mostly lies she presumably read from some pretentious blog, I resisted the urge to correct her on every stupid comment she made), and always complaining bout how the school didn't have Macs. When she'd have a problem using the computer as a projector or something, she'd blame it on the fact that the computer was running on Windows, rather the fact that the computer was a donated piece of shit. Aside from that, most of the problems she was having were simply caused by her own computer illiteracy. Being the "tecchie" of the school I guess, I was always expected to help the teachers with their computer related crap. It's not like the actual school technical support staff actually knew how to do anything more than a virus scan.
It's people like this that spark up unnecessary hatred for Macs. But I can completely see why, because these people are annoying as hell. They're the Narutards of computers. But just because the fanbase is like that doesn't mean you have to go around starting trouble with anyone who's into it.
Let people buy whatever the hell they want.
Oh please, most profanity and derogatory slang terms have roots in things that aren't even offensive to begin with. Think of them as two separate words, because it's spawn into something on its own at this point. I hate when people get offended by small crap like that.
By the way, her analogy was a failure. Sorry random black lady hanging in a pizzeria, try thinking of something better next time.
