Both MTS and the Merchant market don't work without a small investment of NX and quite a few mesos. Plus the tax screws the lower priced things, so most people are not attracted to such things. And some people don't know their prices either, so they over/under price certain things and can't maximize profit.

Nothing against anyone, but for some people it's a little hard to come up with a few of these things.

Just because you aren't good at it (not you specifically just whoever you were referring to with this post) doesn't mean it's not available. You don't need any initial nx to start using the MTS. Quests give you enough scrolls to make enough nx to buy a permit, from there all you need is leathers to get started merchanting in the fm. It's a longer road then just buying NX but it's still available.
