Mmmm...I dont think you should have a problem immigrating here if you know a few people and such (: As long as you make a nice first impression and dont start pomegranate you should be set 
Boss runs may be hard to get into but it isnt a huge deal. Theres lots of super cool people here who are quite immigrant friendly & fun to be around (: Only first gen has a problem with immigrants I believe.
