The Pirate "Hero" Class is Probably a Gun-user

plus the gun is held in the hand of the shield, it would be a waste to make a new shield just for corsairs

They could very easily do what they did for shadowers. Make a shield specifically for them that looks like a gun and adds attack. It'd be weird, but it might be much easier on them as far as mechanics go.
