It's not just the compass poop going on. It's also the 7th Day Market for those of us who aren't in Nexon's time zone, and for a few hours, we have the ridiculous lightbulb over their head.
There's no possible way to remove it except to accept the quest, or like Pomegranate said, you could edit the wz.
