Not really double but I see what you mean. My DK's base is around 3900 with pots afaik (don't remember exactly what my STR is). It's not dexless and I'm still using a level 70 weapon... I'm sure those both contribute.
ed: Ignoring that there's stuff I can't actually equip (I will need some more dex gear), my Aran should be around 4350 at level 95. Not too bad.
I wonder how many people rememberd that Arcglaives require 80 dex, and are gonna rage when they hit level 100 still dexless and can't equip it yet... lol
