A Fact is evidence for a theory. "The Earth is round" is a fact. That fact supports the theory of Gravity because the Theory of Gravity states that planets form in spherical shapes.
No matter what happens, Gravity will always be a theory. Relativity will always be a theory. Doesn't matter if we live for billions of years and find no contradictory evidence. Lack of evidence doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
If BBC or MSN told me something about space travel, I would be wary, but a TV Show dedicated to "The Universe" is a lot more reliable because it quotes several professors during the show.
