The Universe is really big

yet its nearly impossible for any alien to come to us. the nearest star to us is alpha centuri, which is 4.2 light years away from us. there can't be any alien living in the alpha centuri star system b/c of its 3 suns. the next closest is barnard's, which is 5.96 light years away from us. if einstein's theory is right, and if the technology of the alien have to go at the speed of light, it is still nearly impossible for them to travel to us because of the time it takes. 5.96 years of traveling nonstop. i dont think its possible for a spacecraft to travel long distances with an efficient supply unless they shoot their planet (their own perfect spacecraft) to us.

I faintly remember seeing something on the History channel that talked about moving space faster than light: While the craft would be going reasonable speeds, the space around it would be folding or something, and give the appears that it travels faster than light.
"The Universe" was the show.
