Critical at max provides 117.5%.
Amp at max provides 135%. (Traditional mage has 140%)
The only other buff they get is soul dragon, which gives +20 base attack.
Now take a look at these nerfs:
Fire Circle - Equivalent of Blaze Wizard's Fire Strike, but much weaker
20 MP -20 45 Basic Attack 60% Mastery Attacks 4 enemies
Ice Breath - Equivalent to Ice Demon, but has fewer duration and fewer damage for its ice attacks.
20 MP -22 90% Probability x value = 4 Attacks 6 enemies 60% Mastery 70 Basic Attack 5 Seconds
70 base attack x 1.586254 + 20 base attack = 131.0375 on Evan
100 base attack x 1.4 = 140 on a traditional mage
Dragon Thrust - Seems like a Blaze Wizard's Fire Pillar, but a bit stronger. However, when compared to Explosion from FP mages, it's so much weaker.
20 MP -34 95% Probability Attacks 6 enemies 60% Mastery 85 Basic Attack
85 x 1.58625 + 20 = 154.83125 on a Evan
120 x 1.4 = 168 on FP mage
*I don't know the actual speed of these skills, but I'm going to assume they're similar.
Dragon Breath - I'm comparing this to Meteor, as it is in the Dragon's later stages and makes up its strongest mob attack.
20 MP -28 30% Probability x variable -5 Attacks 6 enemies 60% Mastery 170 Basic Attack
As you can see, Evan doesn't even come close to the mobbing potential on mages. This isn't a mage. It's a warped paladin, a mage wannabe.
Edit: And if AMP is really only 120% like Tikey says, then this mage is even more worthless.
they acquire these skills at lower levels though, they might be gimped versions of the skills mages get, but most of these comparisons are to the skills mages get later vs evan. given evan getting them earlier on in the game, they would have to be nerfed a bit.
the higher level skills for evan seem to blow mages out just that much more... i dont know how well they work yet, but they are much stronger then something like chain lightning, paralyze or the demons...
the main contrast to make will probably be the ults. does evan's other arsenal of skills, which do sound strong, make up for their ult having a 1 min cool down... the ult is substantially stronger in its base ma, mixed with the other skills it would seem to surpass a mage. esp given if its more useful at bossing and offers buffs for party members.
it might not be a good choice for leeching given the cool down, but if they fix leeching thats kinda mute. bishops of course will remain somewhat popular, but it seems like a job that could detract from their popularity. esp IF leeching is fixing in gms.
