i myself have never tried this, per say. sure using gemstones ive no experiences in, but other mediums yes. theres a knight piece from a chess set i own, wooden, and its the black knight, that ive used for various practices when relating to things like the aura, a persons own individual energies, and so on. some things just arent able to be explained. i mean, humans are the only animals on earth to have had a more massive affect on the planet than any other animal; ants may have carved into the crust, as well as other burrowers, but no animal has ever harnessed the energies of the foundations of life, and in turn through sheer human nature turned them into a weapon capable of destroying the planet many times over. so yeah, its entirely plausible that this gemstone stuff works. i mean, i can believe it. but, then again the conflict of science and rational experimented facts are oft times the counter to pseudo-scientifical advances. or so as far as i know.
Thing is, humanity depends on useful tools, and so generally when one is found, its use is expanded to be more efficient, and people to whom it might be useful are taught its use in an organized manner. Throughout history there have also been SCAMS of various types, which tried to trick people into thinking they were useful while they actually weren't. People WANT to believe, and so they believe even when the evidence strongly suggests that they should not.
Tarots, palm readings, crystal balls, gems, runes, and quack herbal healing have been present for literally thousands of years. You have things RELATED to them or which might LOOK like them that are actually useful and truthful. For example, the anatomy of the human hand is useful and helpful to society, so people practicing medicine learn about it. Farmers are seen by many as hicks, but in truth farming tech has advanced to the point where a single farmer in a 1st world country can do as much work as 100 old-school farmers in a place like Laos. They get taught farming techniques in a organized manner.
Who teaches tarots, palm readings, crystal balls, gems, runes and "herbal healing?" I drive past these places in Chicago which are essentially hole-in-the-wall storefronts, and they claim to be "colleges of herbal healing." The thing they all have in common is that they use flowery, new-age language, and are generally run by hippies, who believe in counter-culture, (which hinges on whatever the hippie "feels" as right,) rather than culture, (which teaches useful and proven stuff that's been accumulated over thousands of years.) If herbal healing of this sort was useful, there would be a major for it in well-rounded colleges and unis. Why aren't tarots or gems taught at Harvard, which has an over 1-billion dollar endowment and departments for every established discipline known to man, and some new and kinda questionable ones, such as women's studies and black studies? I seriously doubt that after all these thousands of years, no serious scientific research has been done to test the usefulness of tarots, palm readings, crystal balls, gems runes, and "herbal healing" such as in this "college of herbal healing." You can't get a reputable source to teach you this stuff because it's not reputable. And yes, there are books on it, but then there's also record labels that publish white supremacist music, and bunkers in Montana that are preparing for the "inevitable race war."
