If they want a new class to function differently than the old class using the weapon(ie, Pure PA DKs don't work like Arans), then I'd think guns are out. Shooting a gun isn't a martial art, it's just aim and fire, so unless they bring in an Infighter-gunslinger hybrid, I'd bet on Axes, blunts, or daggers.
Maybe something that focuses on 1h Axes? Axe throwing would be lul....
