A very good question, with a pretty simple answer, even if it's the answer that most of us don't necessarily like.
The truth is that Nexon may not know all the ins and outs of the actual gameplay, but they know EXACTLY what they're doing when it comes to profit. They have access to sales numbers and statistics from the mts that you don't. They've correctly determined that enough people still throw items in the mts for '110'. Although less people may actually buy these items, enough of them still will. The players adjust... perhaps concentrating on selling more 'big ticket' items in the mts (rather than doing it for mesos in-game.... notice the ever-increasing list of mts-able items?), or maybe buying nx cards because they find it a bit more difficult to sell the 'small ticket' items they used to in the mts.
Put simply, I believe this to be true because as someone mentioned before: If Nexon wasn't making more money with the new tax, they'd have already changed it back by now.
As an aside, after a month or two, I've learned to adjust to the new tax. I used to (as many of us did) live off of small mts sales almost exclusively. But it's entirely possible to still make a nice nx profit off this game.
